Professional Registration

Professional registration matters. It means your therapist is qualified, accountable, and bound by an ethical framework. This page explains my professional registration and what it means for you.

    BACP Registration

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), member number 416139. I am a BACP registered member and am working toward BACP accreditation.

The BACP is the largest professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK. As a registered member, I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, which sets out the standards of conduct, competence, and ethics expected of practitioners.

    What Registration Means for You

Working with a registered therapist means:

    • I have met the BACP's requirements for training, practice, and professional development
    • I am bound by a formal ethical framework and code of conduct
    • I am required to attend regular clinical supervision
    • I am required to undertake ongoing continuing professional development (CPD)
    • You can check my registration on the BACP register at any time
    • You have access to an independent complaints procedure if needed

    Qualifications

I hold a Master's degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton. My full qualifications are: Certificate in Dissociation and DID: The Fundamentals (Carolyn Spring, 2024), Diploma in Neuroplasticity (Centre of Excellence, 2023), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England, 2022), CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources Practice (Avado Learning, 2020), Certificate in Humanistic Counselling Skills and Studies (Metanoia Institute, 2014), and a BA (Hons) in English Language and Linguistics (University of Roehampton, 2012).

    Clinical Supervision

All practising therapists are required to attend regular clinical supervision. This means I meet with an experienced supervisor to discuss my work, reflect on my practice, and ensure I am working safely and ethically. Your identity is always protected in supervision – I do not share your name or identifying details. For more on how your information is handled, see Confidentiality.

    Continuing Professional Development

I am committed to ongoing professional development. This includes specialist training, research, and attending professional events to ensure my practice stays current and evidence-based.
